There two types of public chargers for your MG for DC and AC charging.
The CCS fast Charger. This is a DC charger and will charge your car from 0 to 80% in 45min. No need to bring a cable as the charging station has this hard wired. To use these public stations, download the Chargenet App
Type 2 Public charger such as the ones you find at work places, super markets, malls, hotels. You will need to bring your own Type 2 cable for these.
The MG can charge up to 11kw with ac charging. So you are best to get one of our 22kW Type 2 to Type 2 cables rather than limiting to the 7kw of other cables to make use of the faster charging. They are backwards compatible with the 7kW chargers.
The majority of free public chargers use the Type 2 Socket, so this cable will allow you to use the chargers. Note Some public charges have a Type 2 hard wired so a cable is not needed 100% of the time.
The 7kW Home charger will suit most people’s needs and will add around 40km per hour of charge. This will fully charge your car overnight. These chargers also have load balancing and are capable of varying the charge based on how much solar is being generated.
If you require faster charging at home and have access to 3 phase then the Tron charger will charge at 11kW.
The MG ZS EV boasts Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) support, enabling users to utilize our V2L adapter by simply plugging it into the charge port. This adapter facilitates the connection of any 240v household appliance or device directly to the car.
With a fully charged battery, the car can power an average-sized family home for up to five days, maintaining functionality until the battery reaches 20% capacity. This feature proves invaluable for camping trips or during emergencies, such as power outages.
