The VIOFO BTR200 Bluetooth Remote Control is a small wireless button that mounts on your dashboard or steering wheel, letting you instantly lock important footage, take a photo, or toggle audio recording without taking your hands off the wheel.
One Press = Footage Saved
Every dash cam continuously records and overwrites old footage as the microSD card fills up. If you witness an incident — a near-miss, a road rage moment, an accident in the next lane — you have a limited window to “lock” the relevant clip before it gets recorded over. Most dash cams require you to either reach up to the camera, fumble with voice commands, or pull over and use the app.
The BTR200 solves this with a single tap. Press the button and the camera immediately locks the surrounding 60 seconds of footage from being deleted. No reaching, no voice commands, no looking away from the road.
Three Functions, Hands-Free
The BTR200 has three configurable buttons:
- Lock Video: instantly protects the current recording from being overwritten
- Take Photo: captures a still image — useful for documenting parking damage or scenic moments
- Audio On/Off: toggle voice recording — for privacy when carrying passengers, or back on when you want to capture audio of an incident
Compatible With
The BTR200 works with any current VIOFO dash cam that supports Bluetooth pairing, including:

Wireless, No Wires to Run
The BTR200 connects to your dash cam over Bluetooth Low Energy — no wires to thread through your headliner, no power cables, no installation. Mount it wherever it’s convenient: on the steering wheel, dashboard, centre console, or door panel. The included adhesive pad and clip mount give you flexibility for different vehicles.
The internal battery lasts approximately 6 months of typical use on a single charge, and recharges in under an hour via USB-C.
Why Drivers Actually Use It
Most dash cam owners only realise they wanted the BTR200 after an incident where they couldn’t lock the footage in time. Common situations where it pays for itself:
- Witnessing a crash in the next lane — too far away to be involved, but your footage might be the only evidence
- Aggressive drivers cutting in dangerously — you want to keep the footage in case anything escalates
- Parking damage you discover later — the BTR200 lets you lock the parking-mode footage before it gets overwritten
- Wildlife, scenery, or interesting moments worth saving as a still photo while driving
- Picking up passengers and wanting to disable audio recording for privacy without fiddling with menus
