DC fast charging
The J5 supports up to 130kW DC and is quoted at 30–80% in approximately 28 minutes on a compatible rapid charger (conditions apply).
For longer trips, multiple shorter sessions stopping at around 20–80% give you the best balance of speed and battery longevity — particularly helpful with LFP chemistry.

Yes — but expect very long charge times. At 8A the J5’s 58.9kWh usable battery takes around 32 hours to charge from 10% to full. The included ICCB (in-cable charger) is fine as a backup or for occasional top-ups, but a dedicated wallbox makes overnight home charging far more practical.

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the right choice for NZ AC destination charging. We suggest a 22kW-rated cable in 5m — it suits the vast majority of public AC bays.
