The KGM Torres EVX comes with a 8 amp trickle charger that will take around 38 hours to charge from 10% up to 100%

To fully charge the vehicle overnight we recommend investing in a Smart EV wall charger. The EVX has an onboard 10.5kW single phase A.C charger and supports up to 145kW DC charging. At the bottom of the page we have recommend home chargers for the EVX and charge times.

Public charging with the EVX

There two types of public chargers; DC CCS fast charger and AC chargers.

The CCS charger. This is a DC fast charger; these chargers have the cables attached so there is no need to bring your own.

The EVX supports up to 145kW DC fast charging, this will charge the car from 10% to 80% in around 37min. Charging after 80% does slow down, so for you are better to split the charging up for longer trips.

Type 2 Public AC chargers like the ones you find a super markets, malls, hotels & Motels. You will need to bring your own cable for these. Plug share will show the chargers in your area and you can see what sort of cables are needed.

What sort of cable do I need for public charging?

We recommend a 7kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable for public charging.
The majority of free public chargers use the Type 2 Socket, so this cable will allow you to use the chargers. Note Some public charges have a Type 2 hard wired so a cable is not needed 100% of the time.

Recommended chargers for the Torres EVX

Most homes only have single phase so our 7kW home charger suits most peoples needs. If you want to make the most of night rates and scheduled charging then our smart chargers can do this. Our chargers also have Solar Diversion to charge your EVX with Solar.

You can choose from the version with a socket on the front and buy a separate cable that can be used for public charging. Or get the version with the cable attached.
