Best Home Wall Chargers for the Arcfox T1

Fast, reliable overnight charging — and future-proof for your next EV

The Arcfox T1’s onboard AC charger is rated at up to 7kW on a standard single-phase connection — which is exactly what a typical NZ home has. A standard 7kW / 32A wall charger is the ideal home setup. A full home charge takes around 6 hours from 10% to 100%, so an overnight plug-in will be ready well before morning.

Choose your home charging style:
Tethered wall charger (fixed cable): the easiest daily experience — plug in and go
Untethered wall charger (socket only): use your own Type 2 cable — great if you share a charger between vehicles or want one cable for home and public AC charging
Solar-aware charger: if you have solar, a smart charger that diverts excess solar means you can charge the T1 for free during the day

Price range: $689.00 through $850.00 inc. GST
Price range: $175.00 through $355.00 inc. GST

Public charging with the Arcfox T1 (NZ)

DC fast charging
The T1 can DC fast charge with a quoted 30–80% session in approximately 17 minutes on a compatible rapid charger (conditions apply, NZ figures TBC). That would make it a quick top-up on a longer trip. DC chargers have cables attached so there is no need to bring a cable for these.

Type 2 AC chargers
AC public chargers are slower, making them ideal when you’re parked in one spot for a while — at a mall, hotel, gym or workplace. Some have a Type 2 cable already attached, while others are “bring-your-own-cable” and need your own Type 2 to Type 2 cable. PlugShare is handy for checking what’s available at your destination before you leave.

What cable do I need for public AC charging?

We recommend a Type 2 to Type 2 cable (7kW-rated)
A 5m length suits most public AC bays and parking layouts.

Does it support V2L.

The oversease model does so we suspect that the New Zealand model will. When they land here we will test our V2L cables to check compitability.

Arcfox T1 home charging FAQs (NZ)

What is the best home wall charger for the Arcfox T1?

A 7kW (32A) wall charger is the ideal home setup for the T1. The T1’s onboard AC charger is rated at up to 7kW single-phase (based on the equivalent overseas-market model), so a standard 32A wallbox delivers the T1’s full home charging speed — a full charge in around 6 hours, with no special wiring required.

No. The T1 charges at up to 7kW on a standard single-phase connection, which is what almost all NZ homes have. A standard 32A single-phase wall charger is all you need.

Arcfox New Zealand has confirmed the T1 offers 310km of WLTP range. Real-world range will vary with driving style, terrain and conditions, but it’s well suited to daily commuting and city driving.

Yes — however a full 10–100% charge takes around 21 hours (based on the estimated battery size), so a standard socket is best as an occasional backup rather than your main charging method. A 7kW wall charger is strongly recommended for daily use.

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the right choice for NZ AC destination charging. We suggest a 7kW-rated cable in 5m.

Based on the equivalent overseas-market model, yes — the T1 is expected to charge from 30–80% in approximately 17 minutes on a compatible DC rapid charger (conditions apply). Official NZ DC charging specifications haven’t yet been confirmed by Arcfox; we’ll update this page once they are.
