CCS2 DC charging connector for New Zealand DC fast chargers
This is the vehicle-side CCS2 connector used on DC fast chargers — the plug the driver handles. It suits new charger builds, replacement of a damaged or worn connector on an existing DC unit.
Nine current ratings are available, from 80 A for compact and portable DC units up to 400 A for high-power installations.
Every option uses a natural-cooling cable — cooling comes from the conductor cross-section and cable construction.
Ultrasonic-welded terminals for a lower temperature rise
The power terminals are ultrasonically welded rather than crimped alone. The result is a contact resistance of 0.5 mΩ maximum, and a terminal temperature rise of less than 50 K at the connector’s rated current. Lower resistance at the joint means less heat generated in the connector during a high-current session, which supports both safety and the service life of the plug.
Built for public-site duty
The housing is a thermoplastic moulding rated IP55, with a moulded handle and strain relief designed for repeated one-handed use. Terminals are silver-plated copper alloy. The connector is rated for more than 10,000 mating cycles and is supplied with a 24 month / 10,000 cycle warranty — enough duty cycle for a public or destination charger seeing multiple sessions a day.
