The VIOFO HK6 Hardwire Kit is the essential companion accessory for VIOFO’s flagship A329S series, A229 Ultra series, and A119M Pro dash cams. It connects your camera directly to your vehicle’s fuse box for constant 12–24V power, and unlocks the advanced features that make these dash cams genuinely class-leading: Hybrid Parking Mode, real-time Bluetooth battery voltage display, and dual-layer battery protection.
Compatible With
- A329S Series: A329S 1CH, 2CH, 3CH, plus A329SW, A329T, A329TW, A329WW (waterproof and telephoto variants)
- A229 Ultra Series: A229 Ultra 1CH, 2CH, 3CH, plus A229 Ultra-W variants
- A119M Pro
Not compatible with the A229 Pro, A229 Plus, A119 Mini 2, T130, or WM1 — those models use the HK4 hardwire kit instead.
Hybrid Parking Mode — Only With the HK6
The A329S series introduced Hybrid Parking Mode, a smart parking feature where the camera starts in continuous time-lapse or low-bitrate recording, then automatically switches to ultra-low-power impact detection as your battery voltage drops. This protects your vehicle for days, not just hours, without risking a flat battery.
This feature requires voltage-based switching, which the HK4 doesn’t support. Without the HK6, your A329S falls back to standard parking modes — capable, but not what you paid for. The HK6 is what unlocks the full feature set.
Real-Time Battery Voltage Display
The HK6 features always-on Bluetooth that continuously broadcasts your vehicle’s battery voltage to the dash cam. Your camera automatically detects the signal and overlays real-time battery voltage directly onto the recorded video — letting you monitor battery health at a glance, verify that parking mode isn’t draining your car, and prove to insurance that the vehicle’s electrical system was healthy at the time of an incident. No other hardwire kit on the market offers this.
Dual Battery Protection — Software + Hardware
A flat battery from a poorly-configured dash cam is one of the most common parking mode complaints. The HK6 protects against this with two independent layers:
- Software Cut-off Voltage: configurable in the VIOFO app between 11.6V and 12.6V (12V vehicles) or 23.2V and 25.0V (24V vehicles). The camera shuts down cleanly when your set threshold is reached.
- Hardware Slide Switch: a physical voltage cutoff on the side of the HK6 itself. Acts as a hardware-level failsafe even if the software setting fails or is misconfigured.
Best practice: set the hardware slide switch to its lowest position (~11.6V) and control the actual cutoff through the VIOFO app, giving you a precise software cutoff with a hardware safety net.
Ultra-Low Standby Current
The HK6 is engineered for minimal power draw during parking — typically less than 10mA in low-power impact detection mode. That’s around 1/30th the consumption of older dash cams in continuous parking mode, meaning your vehicle can sit unused for days or even weeks without the dash cam meaningfully affecting your battery.
What’s Included
- 4 metres / 13.1ft of cable — enough to route discreetly through your headliner from windscreen to fuse box
- Type-C USB connector for the dash cam end
- Bluetooth voltage transmitter module (built into the kit)
- Hardware voltage cutoff slide switch
- Mini fuse tap holder (other fuse types available — see options)
- Earth wire ring terminal
Installation
Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable working under their dashboard, but most customers prefer to have it professionally fitted (typically $80–150 at an auto electrician). The kit connects to two fuse positions: one constant power circuit (always live, used for parking mode) and one switched/ignition circuit (only live when the car is on, used to detect when the engine starts). The earth wire bolts to any clean chassis ground point.
If you’re not sure which fuse positions to use in your specific vehicle, an auto electrician will know — every car is different.
Ideal For
- Every owner of an A329S, A329T, A229 Ultra, or A119M Pro dash cam — this is the accessory that unlocks what you paid for
- Anyone serious about parking mode who wants the longest possible surveillance time without flat-battery risk
- Fleet operators who need 24/7 recording with reliable battery protection across multiple vehicles
- Owners who want real-time battery health visibility on every recording
