Single Phase Type B RCBO also known as a Type B RCD.
For extra added safety this RCBO Type B protects against both DC and AC currents as well as over current.
Save space in your switch board, this only uses 3 spaces as opposed to the Type B RCD + MCB that uses 5 spaces in your switch board.
Because this saves you space, there is less of a chance that your whole board needs an upgrade or a sub board created.
The Residual Current Circuit breaker RCCBs are the safest device to detect and trip against electrical leakage currents, thus ensuring protection against electric shock caused by indirect contacts.
These are recommended by Worksafe to be installed when hard wiring a EV charger. This is because when charging if there was a fault with the EV it could send DC currents back in to the main board.
This will blind the Type A breaker meaning it will not break the circuit when needed.

After installing a so called cheap EV charger from Midea that claimed to have a built-in RCCB type B, only to find out this dodgy company that sells those EV chargers does not have any built in RCCB at all! My electrician told me those RCCB cost $500! At trade price. But fortunately I came across this trusted company SmartEVChargers and was able to get what I needed for less than half what other companies are trying to charge. I am so thankful to this company! Next time I buy a EV charger I will pay the extra and buy a quality unit.
